Submission due: TOMORROW MORNING!
Hello everyone!
We're so happy to have you all here this weekend for Enactus Windsor Hacks. We can't wait to see all those awesome submissions!
I just wanted to reiterate the video submission rules and offer some guidance on creating a strong presentation for your submission.
First, here are the guidelines:
/* * Teams must submit the link of a YouTube video that showcases their * project in any of the challenges. If participants submit into more that * one category, they need to submit multiple times, once to each * challenge. Videos need to be longer than 5 minutes and shorter than * 15 minutes. * * The time to submit the videos for the projects will be on November 8th * 11:00 AM EST. Once the winners are selected, they will be announced * on the same day 4:00 PM. * * Please ensure your video submissions are no longer than 15 minutes * and no shorter than 5 minutes. Please include a link to you project * repository if applicable. Be sure to include which challenge you wish * to pursue in the video title! */
Your submissions will be judged according to the following metrics:
- Uniqueness - How original is the project? Did other teams create the same project?
- Feasibility - How easy will it be to implement?
- Revenue Generation - How much revenue could this project potentially generate?
- Well Being - How big of a positive impact to the world by solving either social or environmental issues could this project generate?
- Applicability - How relevant is the project to the challenge?
It is important that you address all of these metrics in your video submission in some way, in addition to demonstrating your application/program/etc.
It is also VERY IMPORTANT to underline here that this hackathon is about social enterprise, and revenue and impact generation. Small errors and functions during the demonstration can absolutely be overlooked in favour of a solid business plan and potential to generate impact! We recognize that the best solutions take time to develop, so we strongly encourage you to SUBMIT YOUR WORK AND A DEMO VIDEO REGARDLESS OF THE FUNCTIONING STATE OF YOUR SUBMISSION!
If you have a mobile app that can potentially help millions of people but you haven't worked out some of the bugs, it is more important that you demonstrate a strong business case and potential for impact than it is for you to demonstrate a perfectly functioning product!
So submit your work and be proud of your accomplishments this weekend!
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
